On Sept. 29, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market closed out its 29th season at 645 Coleman Boulevard. That ended a run of 26 straight Tuesdays that started on April 7 with about 40 vendor spaces. The Town's own events feed listed that evening as the final market of the year. Coleman Boulevard's next big scheduled gathering is the Holiday Market & Craft Show at the Farmers Market Pavilion on Saturday, Dec. 12.
That leaves about ten weeks, and the fall calendar fills them farther up Highway 17. Thursday nights are at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. Weekends are split between Boone Hall and Park West. The new breakfast and dinner openings are on Long Point Road and Johnnie Dodds Boulevard. Patriots Point is the one big draw at the south end of town. Here's how the season lays out from now until Coleman gets its crowd back.
Towne Centre takes over the weeknight slot
The Tuesday market's role as the regular midweek gathering moves to Thursday this fall. Towne Centre's free Live Under the Oaks series runs every Thursday in October from 6 to 8 p.m. Johnny O' of 95SX is the emcee, there's a weekly food truck, and Burtons Grill + Bar sells beer and wine. The center's listing also suggests grabbing takeout from one of the Towne Centre restaurants.
October has five Thursdays. As of Sept. 30, two of the lineups are posted:
- Oct. 1: Richard and The Twins, a South Carolina trio whose sound the listing describes as "folk-grunge," with The CODfather Nexton Food Truck
- Oct. 8: Tripping Billy Goats, a Charleston-based Dave Matthews Band tribute, with & Lobster as the food truck
Towne Centre also has events on other days. Towne Centre Play Dayz runs Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Fall Festival is Saturday, Oct. 24, from noon to 3 p.m., with live music, family activities, food and a pet costume contest.
The center's restaurant lineup has also changed since summer. Revolving Sushi Kingdom opened at 1594 Palmetto Grande Drive, between Belk and Regal Palmetto Grande. It held soft-opening hours from Sept. 21 to 27 and started regular hours on Monday, Sept. 28. It's open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The menu covers sashimi, tempura, ramen, nigiri, hand rolls and dumplings, served on a rotating conveyor belt. Condado Tacos, a build-your-own taco spot that had been in the center for less than three years, served its last day on Aug. 29, according to The Post and Courier. If you plan to pick up takeout before an October concert, that's the current list.
Long Point Road and Johnnie Dodds get the new tables
The new openings outside Towne Centre are also on the Highway 17 side of town. Eggs Up Grill opened its Belle Hall location at 608A Long Point Road. The Post and Courier reported a public opening date of Aug. 26. The Mount Pleasant Chamber held the ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, Sept. 29, the same day the last Farmers Market wrapped up on Coleman.
The opening more people are waiting on is Loong Yan, at 341 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard. It's the second restaurant from the couple behind Chef Loong Dim Sum & Soup Dumplings on Savannah Highway in West Ashley. It takes over the former White Duck Taco Shop space, which has been fully renovated to seat more than 150. Here's what the owners told The Post and Courier:
- The menu will be close to Chef Loong's, with pan-fried, steamed and soup dumplings, noodles, scallion pancakes and bao. It will put more weight on dim sum.
- A glass window near the entry will show the kitchen team filling and folding dumplings by hand.
- There will be two private dining rooms. One has a round table with a Lazy Susan.
- The goal is a meal for $25 to $30 a person. Beer, wine and sake will be served, and house-made gelato will come later.
As of Sept. 30, Loong Yan isn't open yet. A local openings tracker updated that day still listed it for September or October 2026. The owners said they'll post the opening date on the Chef Loong Instagram account, @chefloongdimsum.
Weekends run from Boone Hall to Park West
On weekends, the calendar moves even farther north. Boone Hall's 30th annual Pumpkin Patch at 2434 N. Highway 17 is open on its listed Friday-through-Sunday dates through Nov. 1. It has a corn maze, a tractor tour, a petting zoo, live performances and food vendors. Park West Recreation Complex hosts two of the season's biggest Town events, five weeks apart.
| Date | Event | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Fri.–Sun. through Nov. 1 | Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch, 30th year | 2434 N. Highway 17 |
| Sun., Oct. 11 | Palmetto Park Jam, gates open 11 a.m. | Palmetto Islands County Park, 444 Needlerush Parkway |
| Sun., Oct. 18 | 39th Annual Children's Day Festival, noon–5 p.m., free | Park West Recreation Complex, 1251 Park West Blvd. |
| Sat., Oct. 24 | Towne Centre Fall Festival, noon–3 p.m. | Mount Pleasant Towne Centre |
| Sun., Nov. 22 | Merry Makers Market, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., first year | Park West Recreation Complex, 1251 Park West Blvd. |
Palmetto Park Jam brings local bands, food trucks and craft vendors to the county park off Needlerush Parkway. Admission and activities at Children's Day are free. The Post and Courier's fall calendar calls it the 38th festival, but the Town's current listing says 39th.
Patriots Point holds the south end
The south end of town doesn't empty out. One of the busiest dates there is aboard a ship. Trick or Treat on the Yorktown runs Saturday, Oct. 17, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. As of Sept. 30, the Patriots Point event page shows it at capacity, so if you don't already have a spot, you'll want a backup plan. The USS Yorktown ghost tours keep going at night through Oct. 31 and pick up again Nov. 1 through Dec. 4. They include access to parts of the ship that are normally closed to visitors.
The Old Village has one fall date. The Annual Old Village Harbor 5K is Saturday, Nov. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. It starts and finishes at Alhambra Hall, 131 Middle Street. Earlier in October, the free Tiny Lawn Music Series has Jeff Caldwell at The Darby Building on Friday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Food trucks will be there, and you can bring a lawn chair.
Park West opens the holiday season, then Coleman takes it back
The Merry Makers Market on Sunday, Nov. 22, is the Town's new addition this year, and it's at Park West, not the Coleman pavilion. The Town's events coordinator, Tracy Richter, put it this way when vendor applications opened in August:
"We are excited to add a new market to kick off the holiday season."
The Town set the same standard for both holiday markets. It asked for local produce, preserves, baked goods, hot food and handmade gifts, and it doesn't accept commercial or mass-produced items. Vendor applications for both markets were due Sept. 12.
Twenty days later, things return to Coleman. The 27th Annual Holiday Market & Craft Show is back at the Farmers Market Pavilion on Saturday, Dec. 12. The 31st Annual Christmas Light Parade runs along W. Coleman Boulevard the next day, Sunday, Dec. 13. From Sept. 29 to Dec. 12, the town's busiest dates are on the Highway 17 side. For summer's openings, our earlier Mount Pleasant summer 2026 roundup covers what landed before this fall's changes.
